Alan Crompton is Operations Manager at Atos Origin for the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games. His responsibilities include staff planning for 150 Atos Origin IT Professionals (additionally defining and structurally organizing over 900 IT staff and volunteer professionals for the overall project), management and coordination of all IT operational activities including Major Venue and IT Facility Planning, System Implementation, Helpdesk Operations and the provision of IT Training and Documentation.


Crompton was the Central Operations Manager for the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic Winter Games and a member of the IT Management Team for the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Summer Games. Prior to joining Atos Origin in 2000, Crompton spent over 12 years at Siemens in IT Service Delivery Management and also had a spell working as Senior Pre-Sales Consultant before working at Sharp Electronics as Customer Programme Manager in the Electronic PoS Division. His role was to develop strategic alliances with partner companies providing product and services which compliments Sharps’ range of EPoS terminals, offering a turnkey solution in the Retail and hospitality market.


Crompton has formal qualifications in Electronic and Electrical Engineering and Computer Maintenance and over his career has participated in a number of technical training courses as well as a various number of Quality and Service Management courses.
